Testifying To The Resurrection

Now only the danger remains to treat yesterday, Easter Sunday, as a mere day of commemoration. If so, the Easter weekend functions as not much more than a religious ritual. Or even worse, if we continue our lives without allowing the what of this weekend to transform the way in which we proceed with our daily routines, we may commit practical atheism. That is, if we don’t seek the presence and activity of the living Lord in the daily routines of our lives so that we can participate with whatever He is busy doing through the power of his Spirit in our world. Based on how this worked in the early Christian communities, according to Acts 4:32-35, Mitzi Smith puts it beautifully, “The Resurrection calls and enables us to perform powerful tangible acts that coincide with human need.” Where will the power of the Spirit of the risen Lord, as it is present in and through you, meet with human need today?
