Have a Joyful Week!

Psalm 146 gives us a snapshot of what the joy of a Christian looks like. It is essentially a life of praise “for as long as I live” (146:2), which is why the Psalm starts and ends with “Praise the Lord” (146:1, 10). In a life of praise, Christians learn how to shift their “trust in princes, in mortal men, who cannot save” (146:5) to “hope in the Lord, Maker of heaven and earth” (146:6). When that happens, people are blessed (146:5). Joy is born out of a continuous realization that the Lord is “faithful for ever” (146:6) and “for all generations”(146:10) regardless the circumstances. The psalm gives plenty examples of what this faithfulness of God looks like in the lives of ordinary people like you and me (146:7-9). Come, let us focus this week on joyfully celebrating our trustworthy God! He will not disappoint or abandon you this week no matter what. However, there will be plenty of opportunity for you and I to put our trust in the fake salvations that will appear among all the things that will occupy our time and energy this week. Have a joyful week by not losing your primary focus on the only One who provide true hope!
