Come Quickly To Me

November 17, 2010 § Leave a comment

When the going gets tough, we all want the Lord to come quickly to me (Psalm 141:1).  But we all know that does not always happen as quick as I’d like it to happen, and sometimes we don’t even see evidence of the Lord coming to me at all.  And yet, the writer of Psalm 141 does not expect God to act in ways that solve all the problems at once.  The writer pleads “do not give me over to death”, and he pledges to “take refuge” in the Lord (141:8).  When we fix our eyes on the Lord (141:8), we trust the Lord to do what He seems best for us in His own time.  And we know whatever the outcome, He will be our refuge and not give us over to death.
